Tuesday 05 July 2016
Education for Employment
Last Tuesday 12 July, the documentary of the SAHWA Project was presented at Casa Arabe, in Madrid (Spain). Entitled “Khamsa” (five in Arabic), the film is a collection of 5 stories, 5 short movies by 5 youngsters from southern Mediterranean cities.
Five youths, five Mediterranean cities, five stories. Hiba, Hakeem, Seif, Nina and Ayoub. Beirut, Alexandria, Djerba, Timezrit and Casablanca. A journey through the dreams and preoccupations of five people united by a generation and the waters of a shared sea, but separated by distant horizons and environments. Through their own voices and recorded with their own eyes, we roam these five young people’s universes.
The event featured Elena Sánchez-Montijano (SAHWA Scientific Coordinator - CIDOB), Marc Almodóvar (director of Khamsa), Salvatore Nigro (Global Vicepresident and CEO Europe of Education For Employment - EFE), Karim Hauser (Responsible for the Governance Area at Casa Árabe) and Cristina Manzano (Director of Esglobal) who was moderating the debate after the screening of Khamsa.
